About the Ashley Lemire Memorial Fund
The Ashley Lemire Memorial Fund proudly supports two heartfelt initiatives:
The Ashley Lemire Academic & Athletic Achievement Award at St. Matthew High School, and
Teeing Off For Diabetes - The Ashley Lemire Memorial Golf Tournament.
The Fund was created to honor Ashley’s life, spirit, and unwavering strength. Ashley was known for her resilience, determination, compassion, and ability to inspire those around her even in the face of significant challenges.
What began as a way to remember Ashley has grown into a meaningful community movement rooted in hope, perseverance, and giving back.
The Fund is dedicated to continuing Ashley’s legacy by supporting diabetes research, and young people who demonstrate the same courage and commitment that defined her journey. Through education-focused initiatives and community-driven events, we strive to raise funds for diabetes research and create opportunities for students to thrive, overcome obstacles, and pursue their dreams.
Beyond financial donations and support, the Fund represents something deeper — a celebration of life, strength, and the power of community coming together for a greater purpose. Each initiative we support carries forward Ashley’s values and keeps her spirit alive in a way that positively impacts future generations.
Education Initiative
Ashley Lemire Scholarship
Launching in 2026, the Ashley Lemire Academic & Athletic Achievement Award honours outstanding students who embody academic excellence, athletic achievement, and personal resilience. Each year, two deserving students from St. Matthew High School receive $2,500 to support their university or college studies.
In Memory
Honouring Ashley Lemire
Ashley Lemire touched the lives of everyone she met. Despite her daily battle with Type 1 Diabetes, she lived with grace, strength, and an infectious smile. Her love for golf and her compassion for others continue to inspire this community.
Through this fund, Ashley's memory lives on — transforming lives through education, supporting diabetes research, and bringing people together every year on the golf course she loved.
Golf Tournament
Each year, we host a golf tournament in Ashley’s memory to raise funds for diabetes research.
We are proud to host the third annual Teeing Off For Diabetes golf tournament on July 18, 2026, at the beautiful Rockland Golf Club. This cherished community event brings friends, family, and supporters together to celebrate Ashley's life while raising vital funds for diabetes research.
Each year, this special day is filled with connection, remembrance, and a shared commitment to making a difference.
